Hello everyone, and welcome back to another week of loose watercolours. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been taking it slow these past few days – just easing back into painting and getting used to the cold weather again. But that hasn’t stopped me having fun with loose watercolours! Toby and I have been chillaxing around the house this week, as the nice summer weather seems to have disappeared. How’s your week been? Relaxing too, I hope.
I hope you all enjoyed painting along to ‘Daisy… Daisy’ last week – I’ve seen lots of nice spring versions being posted in the Loose Watercolours Facebook Group! This week’s live broadcast is on tonight at the usual time of 8pm GMT, and tonight’s theme is ‘Morning Has Broken.’ If you’d like to join in the fun and paint along, you can watch it by following the link here: https://loosewatercolours.com/live-broadcast/
If you’d like to see them for yourself (along with lots of other lovely paintings), why not join in the loose watercolour fun in the Loose Watercolours Facebook Group? There’s now almost three thousand members (wow!), and it’s a lovely and supportive environment where you can get tips and tricks as to how to improve your painting skills. If you’d like, you can join by following the link here: https://m.facebook.com/groups/753969806117098/?ref=share
Want some more painting practice? Well then, you’re covered over at loosewatercolours.com. ‘Sunrise Florals’ is a perfect seasonal design for any spring inspiration, and it makes a lovely finished picture! Why not dust off your orange tones and paint along with this one?
If you’d like to mix up your painting practice a little, don’t forget to give ‘Butterfly Meadow’ a go. It’s a fun Wash & Line, which is my variation on the classic Line & Wash, and it’s available over on my Patreon. The ink gives a little extra dimension to the finished picture, and it gives a more pronounced feel to the final look. What do you think? Even though I’m back in (not-so) sunny England again, I keep thinking about my time painting in Venice. Here’s a spot that I thought looked particularly nice to paint, though it turns out that John Singer Sargent beat me to it by about a hundred years! Where would your dream spot to paint, do you think?
That’s all from me for now, and Toby and I are off on a lovely long walk – there’s been a spot of slightly warmer weather here this afternoon and we intend to make the most of it! Though there’s an extra special treat for you all this week – a free tutorial! Here’s ‘Spotty Dotty Florals,’ and I hope you all enjoy painting along!
I’ll see you all very soon, but in the meantime, have a great week and happy painting!
