Hello everyone, and welcome back to another week of loose watercolours with me, your host, Andrew Geeson! How’s your week been? Here in Looseville, it’s well and truly summer, as the tennis season is in full swing – Toby and I have been watching Wimbledon matches all afternoon and enjoying a slight summer breeze! No strawberries and cream, though, but we might get some for the rest of the tournament.
It was lovely to see so many of you painting along to the live broadcast this week, and I hope you all enjoyed the little trip down the waterways in ‘Venice Evening.’ I’ve seen some of your lovely pictures on the Loose Watercolours Beginners Facebook Group, and I’ve got to say that I’m very impressed. You’re all improving in leaps and bounds, and you’ve produced some lovely work!
Tonight’s live broadcast is ‘Tulips on Check Cloth,’ and it’s on at the usual time of 8pm GMT. If you’d like to stretch your watercolour muscles, make sure to join in by following the link here: https://loosewatercolours.com/live-broadcast/
For those of you on Patreon, there’s a new tutorial available over there this week as well. ‘Yellow Floral & Fence’ is the perfect opportunity to perfect your wash and line skills, and it’s the ideal chance to use some beautifully summery shades as well! If you’d like to give it a go, you can find the Patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/andrewgeesonloosewatercolours
There’s also a new tutorial available on loosewatercolours.com this week, ‘Pink Meadow.’ An idyllic scene with some bright pink and blue hues, it’s the ideal picture to paint as we swing into the height of summer. And it’s a lovely landscape if you want to practice your picturesque scenes! You can find the tutorial here: loosewatercolours.com
I was working in Manchester this week, so of course, I made the most of the opportunity to practice some plein air painting in the city centre. If you’re not familiar, Manchester is one of the UK’s bigger cities, and it’s full of all sorts of things to do. It’s also got some beautiful canals, so there’s plenty of inspiration to paint. Well worth a visit if you ask me!
That’s all from me this week, as there’s a tennis match starting in a couple of minutes and there’s a spot on the sofa with mine and Toby’s name on it. In the meantime, though, there’s an exclusive tutorial included at the end of this post for all of you paid subscribers as an extra special thank you for all of your support. After all, it’s your support that helps keep this running, so I hope you enjoy painting along to ‘Dibs & Dabs,’ where you can perfect your tree painting skills!
Until next time, it’s goodbye from Toby and I, and I hope you all have a lovely week. Rest, relax, and of course, practice some loose watercolours along the way!
