What paints do you use?
I use tubes of water colour paint.
The light Blue – is Royal Blue (Sennelier – Artist Quality)
All other paints are either Windsor & Newton (Artist Quality) or Cotman’s ((Student Quality)
What paper do you use?
140lbs/300gms Cold Press NOT watercolour paper which is mid weight (that’s the thickness of the paper) and mid texture (that’s the feel of the paper to the touch)
How do you mix the paints?
Look at the tutorial on ‘How to mix paints’ Click the link here …… to take you to it.

How can I buy/ order your brushes?
The brushes are available in the shop. Click the link here…… to get Andrew’s Loose Gang brushes.
We use Royal Mails tracked and signed system for postage. Once the parcel leaves the U.K Royal Mail hands it over to that countries mailing system. You are then able to track where your parcel is with this system. You also need to use a delivery address where someone will be able to sign for your parcel to ensure its safe delivery.
Postage savings can be made by placing an order together with others in an Art Group or with friends to share and reduce postage costs.

What kit do I need?
To start use a small range of tubed water colour paints (try not to use paint in pans (solid blocks). I use the Loose Gang brushes (4 of them) see what you have that is the nearest to the shape of Loose gang brushes that I use and start with these. You will also need paper, a water container and a flat palette.

How do I start to paint loose?/ Where should I start after joining?
Start at the Back to School section. The videos here will give you a good overall approach of how to paint loose watercolours and the exercises you do here are essential building blocks that must be done for anyone who wishes to master this style of painting. From there follow the suggested beginners tutorials (also in this section).
The Tips and Techniques videos are also good to look at as they answer many questions that often arise at the start of your loose water colour journey.
Then progress to the other Beginners tutorials which are found under Beginners in the Academy.
